Cisco Aironet 1520 Series

Cisco 1520 Series Lightweight Access Points provide a flexible, highly secure, and scalable mesh platform for demanding outdoor environments. Designed for deployments across large metropolitan areas, the Cisco mesh solution is part of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network and can be deployed as an extension of a wired or wireless network.

Cisco Aironet 1520 Series Lightweight Access Points includes:

Cisco Aironet 1522: Dual-band mesh access point
Cisco Aironet 1522HZ: Hazardous location, dual-band mesh access point
Cisco Aironet 1524SB: Tri-band radio with dual backhaul
Cisco Aironet 1524PS: Public safety mesh access point

The 1520 Series wireless broadband platform operates with Cisco WLAN controllers and Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS) software, centralizing key functions of WLANs to provide scalable management, configuration, and security and transparent mobility between indoor and outdoor environments.

Cisco Aironet 1550 Series

Extend high-performance connectivity to the outdoors with the next-generation Cisco Aironet 1550 Series wireless access point. This series is based on Cisco 802.11n technology with integrated silicon-level spectrum intelligence to detect, classify, and mitigate RF interference. This outdoor wireless mesh access point offers the following advantages:

Operational continuity for mission-critical applications across wired, indoor, and outdoor networks
New levels of security, performance protection, and policy enforcement
Flexibility and scalability of reliable multi-device and multi-network application delivery

Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controllers

Cost-effectively manage, and secure your wireless networks with the Cisco 5500 Series Wireless Controller. Automated wireless configuration and management functions give you more visibility and control. Integrated CleanAir technology protects 802.11n performance by creating a self-healing, self-optimizing wireless network.

As a component of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, the controller provides real-time communication between Cisco Aironet access points, the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS), and the Cisco Mobility Services Engine. It delivers centralized security policies, wireless intrusion prevention system (IPS) capabilities, RF management, and quality of service (QoS).

Designed for high-performance wireless networking, the 5500 Series:

Supports a higher client density than other wireless LAN controllers
Delivers more efficient roaming, with at least nine times the throughput of existing 802.11a/g networks
Optimizes and protects network performance by mitigating interference
Offers software license flexibility to add additional access points as business requirements change
Supports advanced services, including OfficeExtend for secure mobile teleworking and Enterprise Wireless Mesh solutions which allows access points to dynamically establish wireless connections in hard-to-connect locations

Cisco Aironet 1260 Series

Provide reliable and predictable 802.11n wireless coverage for indoor environments. Cisco Aironet 1260 Series wireless access points deliver up to nine times the throughput of 802.11a/g networks for multimedia applications. Designed specifically for challenging environments, the 1260 Series supports external antennas and a broad operating temperature range.
